The RLWYC 2011 Sailing Program has something for everyone.

  • The Learn to Sail Program offers sailing instruction for young & old.  The program includes courses for beginners to budding racers and all courses are taught by CYA certified instructors.  The Learn to Sail fleet offers a variety of opportunities to our sailors, it includes Prams, Optimist dinghies, Bytes, Lasers, 420’s and the Mega 30 keel boat.  The program also includes a combination tennis/sailing sessions. This year we are offering two tennis/sailing sessions geared for younger children (10 and under) and one tennis/sailing session for older children (11 and up).
  • The Race Team Program (Team Core) prepares sailors for the challenges and rewards of regatta competition, while promoting camaraderie and good sportsmanship. Students of all ages are welcome to join Team Core. We encourage anyone interested in Race Team to give a try even if it's just for a week.
  • The Club Races are for sailors young and old who want to test their skills in competition.  The growing fleet of scows has brought new energy to this series in recent years and it has become an exciting forum for spirited competition and good hearted rivalries.
  • We draw the attention of all young sailors to the July 29th Arctic Glacier Youth Ya Gotta Regatta, hosted by the RLWYC. The race is a unique format, designed for fun and with some special surprises. We hope that all of our young sailors will participate.
